Established to provide crisis intervention, advocacy, information and referral services, and education to members of the University community-students, staff, and faculty. Certified Sexual Assault Peer Advocates staff a 24-hour telephone crisis line to provide information and emotional support for female and male victim/survivors of sexual assault, relationship violence, stalking, and harassment. Prevention programs on topics relating to sexual and relationship violence are also offered, and services are provided for partners and family members of victim/survivors.

The Office for Student Conduct and Academic Integrity responds to inquiries about student conduct that poses concern for members of the University community and may constitute a violation of the Student Conduct Code. Staff members attempt to resolve conduct cases informally, encouraging self understanding and personal development. They also promote academic integrity; aid faculty and instructional staff in providing a positive learning environment through the prevention and detection of cheating; and consult with faculty members regarding suspicion or an encounter of scholastic dishonesty.

Provides a full range of services to students with campus-based complaints or concerns. An ombudsman helps students resolve problems informally. An advocate is also available to assist students in formal grievance or disciplinary hearings. SCRC can help students deal with University regulations and policies, or misunderstandings between students and instructors or administrators. Students may also have concerns about unfair treatment or may have been accused of a violation of the Student Conduct Code.

The Student Parent HELP (Higher Education for Low-Income People) Center offers programs and services that are designed to promote access, retention, and academic success for University of Minnesota undergraduate students who are also parents. The HELP Center assists all students with children registered in any college on the Twin Cities campus. Services and facilities include, but are not limited to: various child care assistance grants, advocacy and referral, a weekly Student Parent Academic Support Group (Weds. 12-2PM), a child friendly parent lounge and computer center, regularly scheduled family friendly events and programs. Initial intake and child care grant screening appointments can be made by calling 612-626-6015 and walk-in contacts are also welcome.

Student Unions & Activities, which include the recently renovated Coffman Memorial Union, the St. Paul Student Center, and the services of the West Bank Skyway, offer a variety of programs, activities, services, and facilities that enhance campus life and promote a sense of community. Each facility provides lounge and study spaces, dining services, convenience stores, meeting/conference space, game rooms, copy centers, and bookstores. You'll also find services such as postal stations, ATMs, and e-mail kiosks in the student unions. In addition to its facilities, SUA also hosts numerous events and activities planned by student interns and volunteers, ranging from concerts and films to lectures and cultural programs. Additional student development opportunities include more than 150 student jobs and a student-led Board of Governors.

Represents, advises, and educates students in legal matters that students frequently encounter. Major areas of service are in the following areas of law: landlord/tenant, consumer, family law, immigration, and misdemeanor offenses. Legal service staff also conduct other educational services to inform students of their rights and responsibilities as citizens. The service was established through a student initiative, and all its funding comes from students. A student-led Board of Directors sets policy and procedures and plans law-related educational events. Students interested in learning more about careers in law and law-related fields can attend events organized as part of the Mentor Program. Notary service is available at the University Student Legal Service office.
